Manchester man killed in rollover on I-293

The New Hampshire State Police said a 59-year-old man killed in a highway accident may have been unconscious before his car hit a guardrail and vaulted onto Interstate 293.

The police said 59-year-old Edward Wells of Manchester was not wearing a seatbelt when his 2002 GMC Envoy landed on its roof in the highway just after 9 a.m. yesterday. He was alone in the vehicle.

Witnesses told the police that Wells appeared to be unconscious when his car veered off Front Street in Machester, climbed a grassy median and sailed onto the highway.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, the police said.
