ATV driver who abandoned vehicle faces charges in Stewartstown
A search for the driver of an abandoned ATV has led to a man facing charges in Stewartstown.
The police said a landowner confronted a man in an ATV near the end of his 800-foot driveway. When he asked the driver for some identification and tried to retrieve the key from his machine, the man fled into the woods. The landowner called for help.
A conservation officer’s canine followed the man’s scent for 500 feet.
During the search, a car operated by the owner of the ATV drove up. The police identified the ATV driver as 19-year-old Tylor Rancloes of Merrimack.
The police learned Rancloes’s driver’s license was revoked, stemming from an underage DWI conviction in Colebrook’s district court in 2013. It wasn’t immediately known whether he had a lawyer.
