Police seek suspect in Rochester shooting

The police in Rochester were searching yesterday for a suspect they say shot a 19-year-old man in broad daylight in the New Hampshire community.

WMUR reported that the 19-year-old victim was hospitalized with possible life-threatening injuries in the shooting that took place just before noon yesterday.

The identity of the victim was not released.

Rochester police Capt. Gary Boudreau described the suspect as an African-American male about 6 feet tall, skinny, with dreadlocks that reached his shoulders. He was wearing a gray shirt with jean shorts.

The police said they believe the victim was targeted by the shooter.
