400-acre Plaistow forest protected from development

The 400-acre town forest in Plaistow is going to be protected for future generations.

The Eagle Tribune reported the town finalized an agreement with the Southeast Land Trust for a conservation easement.

Town Manager Sean Fitzgerald said the easement will go a long way to protecting a valuable resource and popular place for hiking and other recreational activities.

Voters supported the plan at Town Meeting this year, agreeing to fund additional costs for the preservation project.
