The Insiders: Let the Knights of Columbus cook you some delicious chicken

When the Knights of Columbus speak, you listen (do they speak, though? Are they a real thing?) And when they chicken barbecue, you most definitely also chicken barbecue. So guess what you’re doing this evening? Chicken barbecue! The Knights of Columbus are hosting their annual chicken barbecue event at Immaculate Conception Parish in Penacook from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. That means you don’t have to cook anything, but you can definitely eat plenty of tasty somethings, most likely pieces of chicken. Call 724-3314 or check out icpenacook.org for more info on the church.

If you’re looking for something to do a little earlier in the day, Sandy’s Pet Food Center at 141 Old Turnpike Road is hosting an event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for International Assistance Dog Week. The idea is to promote service dog awareness with information on what they do. There will be info about the new service dog law, which goes into effect Jan. 1 and makes fake service dogs illegal in New Hampshire. Call 332-8193 for more information.
