The Concord police have asked for help in identifying a man who they believe stole three bottles of wine from the Cumberland Farms at 120 Manchester St. earlier this month.

The police were called to the store about 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1. The manager reported that a delivery person had seen the man hide the bottles, each valued at $5.99, in his pants. Surveillance footage showed the man exiting and entering a gray Toyota Camry from the early 1990s being driven by another individual. Footage also showed the man slipping two items into his pants, the police said.

The man looked to be in his 30s with brown, buzz-cut hair and a medium to heavy build. He was wearing a light blue T-shirt, blue plaid shorts and a gold chain around his neck.

Anyone with information can contact the regional crimeline at 226-3100 or text TIP234 with a message to 275637. Cash payments are available to anyone whose information leads to an arrest. Tips remain anonymous.

The only surprise here is that the thief had to be reported. Three bottles of wine, tucked into most any pair of pants, should clink up a storm.
