W.T.Taylors in Franklin gearing up for holiday season
W.T. Taylors, a new gift store in downtown Franklin, is gearing up for the holiday season.
“We’ve got a lot of our holiday stuff that’s already come in, so it looks pretty nice,” said co-owner Marie Bedard.
Bedard and Terry Rogers, both registered nurses, decided to open the store on 377 Central Street in June when the former store XX closed.
“We both love the store and I just jokingly said one day, ‘We should buy it and get out of nursing!” Bedard said.
Both women are still registered nurses, but now split their time running the store, which sells traditional gift shop items, such as country and primitive gifts.
Business has been steady, but sometimes slow, as the women look for a steady customer base. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. It is also open on most Sundays, Bedard said.
“It’s a really cute little store, and it’s got little gifts for anybody,” she said.
