Letter: Extremists
Mitt Romney and Ovide Lamontagne hold the most extreme positions. Even the deified Ronald Reagan would never be accepted in the Republican Party if he were alive today.
Voting Republican today means: You believe women shouldn’t have equal pay or have the right to choose, even in what used to be common exceptions of rape and incest, and that contraception coverage should be up to the employer’s discretion. You don’t believe in global warming. You don’t care that military industrial contractors Dwight Eisenhower warned us about will get the biggest welfare check in the form of $2 trillion that the military said they don’t want. You believe in trickle-down theory – and giving the rich even more means more crumbs on the table for us. (This translates to $8 trillion more debt). You don’t care that Romney will appoint many of Bush’s cabinet, and a disastrous Iranian war has the potential to dangerously escalate by drawing in Russia and China. You think environmental regulations get in the way of businesses and should be dismantled. You think Social Security and Medicare are handouts and you have succumbed to the Koch-funded think tanks banging the drum that Social Security is going broke (it isn’t), and believe in social Darwinism. You think social programs should be eliminated. You think health care is a privilege and not a right. You think renewable energy is a waste of time. You don’t care that there will be two Supreme Court nominations.
Please choose wisely when voting.
