10:34 a.m.: Weare police are searching for a Massachusetts man accused of assaulting a 17-year-old female acquaintance last night at a home on Old Town Road.

Jonathan Maguire, 20, of Groveland, Mass., is charged with attempt to commit sexual assault, a misdemeanor; felony assault; two counts of misdemeanor assault; obstructing reporting of a crime; and criminal mischief.

The attack was not random, according to Weare Police Chief Gregory Begin.

Maguire considered dangerous and may be armed: “We believe he had a knife when he left, but God only knows what else he can get a hold of,” Begin said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in Manchester to be treated for injuries Begin described as “non-life threatening but traumatic.”

Maguire allegedly fled in the victim’s 2003 black Jeep Liberty, with N.H. plate number 2103374. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, and sneakers with no shirt, and is believed to be headed to Groveland.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department, the U.S. Marshall’s office and other local and state officials are assisting in the search, according to a release from Begin.
