President Obama and former president Bill Clinton will visit Concord together Sunday as part of the breakneck pace of the final days of the presidential election. The day before and the day after, Obama’s challenger, Republican Mitt Romney, will also be campaigning in the state.
Information about the location and ticket distribution for the Concord event will be available today, said Holly Shulman, Obama campaign spokeswoman in the state.
“New Hampshire is going to be a key state and we know this election will come down to a few key votes in a key state,” Shulman said.
Concord police Chief John Duval said he met with campaign representatives yesterday and that logistics around street closures are being worked out this week.
This will be the president’s seventh visit to New Hampshire since Labor Day. It’s part of a whirlwind tour across the country with stops Saturday in Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Virginia, and stops Sunday in Florida, Ohio and Colorado.
In his second campaign trip to New Hampshire this fall, Romney will appear in Portsmouth on Saturday and appear with his wife, Ann, and musician Kid Rock at a rally for supporters Monday at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.
“New Hampshire is where our campaign was launched, and with the increased outpouring of support from Granite Staters, it will help bring us to victory on November 6,” said Romney spokesman Michael Levoff, in an email.
Tickets for both events are available at mittromney.com/NH.
Tickets for the Portsmouth event can be picked up at 104 Washington St., Dover, or 72 Portsmouth Ave., Unit 101, Stratham. Tickets for the Verizon Arena rally are available at 273 South River Road, Bedford; 1850 Elm St., Manchester; 15 West Broadway, Suite 2, Derry; and 427 Amherst St., Unit #R-4A, Nashua.
