Letter: Fifty years of service to Sutton
As a trustee of the Sutton Free Library, I am writing to express my gratitude for the 50 years of service that Jeanette Couch has provided to the town.
Serving as the town librarian for such a long tenure is a remarkable achievement not likely to be repeated. During her many years of service, Couch has been a steadfast, dependable public servant. I smile when I think about the generations of Sutton Central School children who have walked from the elementary school to the library over the years to hear stories under Couch’s careful watch.
Couch has a remarkable memory about the books on the library’s shelves, and we will miss this knowledge after her retirement. Many Sutton residents have been assisted by Couch during her tenure as librarian. Such a record is something to celebrate.
