Letter: Good choice for Loudon, Canterbury
Democracy is a demanding form of government, requiring a thoughtful and engaged electorate and elected officials dedicated to the common good, not to personal and political gain. Governing requires an open and cooperative mind, respect, civility, integrity, innovative thinking, the ability to inspire, dedication, and commitment to the values that our country is based on, not just in words but in deeds and wisdom. Howard Moffett personifies these qualities.
His involvement with local and state organizations is testimony to his thoughtfulness, energy, and concern for the well-being of his town and New Hampshire.
Moffett will bring a fresh eye to the issues facing our state such as education, economic and budget matters, quality health care for all our citizens and environmental challenges.
I encourage voters in Canterbury and Loudon to go to Moffett’s website, Moffett4StateRep.com, to learn details about his positions on these and other critical issues.
The last House session was characterized by animosity, conflict and an inability to work together in good spirit to address New Hampshire’s challenges. Moffett will work cooperatively, with foresight and insight, with colleagues to find the best solutions to New Hampshire’s pressing issues.
I urge voters in Merrimack County District 9 to vote for Moffett. We have been walking in a period of darkness in the House. Moffett can help lead us into the light.
