Community invited to forum on refugee experience
MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC are invited to attend a community forum next week on the refugee and immigrant experience in Concord and how the community can work to improve it.
The discussion, “Connecting Concord’s Diverse Community: Celebrating Our Shared Humanity,” will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord. Six panelists -- refugees, immigrants and student leaders -- will discuss their experiences in Concord before attendees break into facilitated small-group discussions.
The forum, which will be facilitated by social psychologist Gerri King, will close with an open community discussion. Organizers of the event include the Concord Area Task Force Against Racism and Intolerance, Concord clergy members, the Concord Police Department, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice.
