Letter: Thank you,New Hampshire
Dear Citizens of New Hampshire: I live in a blue state that borders you to your south. I don’t know what to do with myself come election time. I want so badly to help the candidate I believe is the right one, but my efforts at the presidential level are somewhat irrelevant in my deep blue state.
A friend invited me to travel with her up north to knock on doors. I was nervous. I didn’t want to intrude. But I also didn’t want to wake up on Nov. 7 and wonder “What if?” So I worked my turf and apologized to you along the way for the disruption that I represented to your Sunday afternoon activities.
You were all so kind.
Now it is over. And thanks to your patience, I am not wondering “What if?” This campaign is over, but I won’t forget you. I extended my hand, and you took it. Politics – an all but dirty word – did that.
