Concord Salvation Army seeks help granting hundreds of children’s holiday wishes

The Salvation Army is looking for help granting the holiday wishes of local children.

More than 450 stars with wishes written on them are waiting at the army’s office in Concord, according to Maj. Susan Stinson.

So many people have called to make wishes, for children ranging from infants to 16 years old, that the organization has a waiting list in case there is enough time to grant more, Stinson said.

“The downturn in the economy has affected so many people this holiday season, some folks who contributed in the past may be people we are helping this year,” she said.

Stars are available for pick-up between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., or by appointment, at the Salvation Army office, 58 Clinton St. The gift should be returned unwrapped by Dec. 14, with the original star attached.
