Portsmouth police arrest suspect in heroin overdose case
The Portsmouth police are investigating the death of a woman who overdosed on heroin, and they have arrested a second woman who may have information about the source of the drug.
The police are not identifying the 22-year-old who died Nov. 20, and they are asking the public for any information regarding the circumstances of the woman’s death.
Authorities Wednesday night announced the arrest of 41-year-old Jennifer Landry, whose last known address was in Portsmouth.
Portsmouth Deputy Chief Corey MacDonald said Landry is wanted for possession of heroin on Nov. 23 and may have information about the overdose death.
Under state law, the supplier of illegal drugs that cause a death faces a possible life sentence in prison.
