Letter: Keep healthy and safe
I have a couple of holiday wishes to share.
First, I wish that those who need to cough or sneeze would do so into their elbow joint rather than their hands. If you observe people doing the former, praise them; if they’re doing the latter, politely correct them. Too often I see people use their hands as a depository for the discharge from a sneeze or cough. Then these hands are used to prepare food that people eat or shake the hands of others. Not healthy.
Second, I wish those who walk, run or bike in the dark would wear reflective clothing or carry a light (preferably a blinking one). It makes it so much safer to be seen by drivers. This serves as a courtesy to drivers and reduces the risk of being hit by a vehicle.
Thanks and have healthy, safe and happy holidays.
