Letter: Tough questions for Brennan

I ask our senators to give President Obama’s nominee for CIA director, John Brennan, tough questions about his reported support for “enhanced” interrogation techniques, which are inhumane and may justify torture of our servicemen and woman if they are captured. I also oppose the drone attacks which Brennan supports. Their use is also likely to come back to haunt us as drones become available to our adversaries. Drones kill civilians frequently, and their use is not consistent with the human rights values I want our country to uphold. Their use is also counterproductive because our country comes to be felt as an inhumane ominous force, making recruitment of radical anti-Americans easier.
