Letter: Important vote for wind energy
I am writing to thank Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte for their recent vote in favor of the wind energy tax credits that were set to expire at the end of 2012.
In New Hampshire’s Newfound Lake area, wind energy is at the center of a controversy. The placement of windmills and turbines should be discussed among the people and leaders of this state and nation. I believe wind energy is an important source of clean energy for New Hampshire that can reduce our reliance on energy from dirty fossil fuels, such as coal and oil.
The passage of the wind energy tax credits will help producers to build more windmills and turbines, employing many workers. The wind energy tax credits will also help many people across the state place wind on their properties.
