Palin ends Fox News run
Sarah Palin has cut ties with Fox News Channel, ending an association with the cable network that had provided the most-visible forum for her conservative views.
Fox confirmed that the former 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee would no longer be a regular on-air commentator but declined to discuss the circumstances of her departure. The website Real Clear Politics said Friday that Palin decided not to accept Fox’s contract-renewal offer.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Gov. Palin,” Bill Shine, Fox News’s executive vice president of programming, said in a statement. “We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”
Palin has been an on-air contributor to Fox, the leading cable news channel, for the past three years. In interviews with Fox’s conservative hosts, she typically offered pugnacious and headline-grabbing comments about President Obama.
