Principal: Student found bullets in school toilet

A Concord High School student found four loose bullets in a toilet on the third floor of the East Building yesterday afternoon.

Principal Gene Connolly put out a note to parents yesterday about the incident. At 12:15 p.m., a student saw the bullets in the toilet, snapped a photo on his cell phone and reported it to his teacher. The teacher then notified Connolly, who went to the bathroom with the school resource officer. When they arrived, the bullets were gone, and administrators believe they were flushed down the toilet.

Teachers were asked to tell their students in the hope that a one of them would come forward with information. It’s possible a student accidentally brought bullets left over from hunting or some other activity to school and tried to get rid of them, Connolly said, but no students came forward.

The district is working with the police department to investigate this and another incident that occurred last week, when someone found threatening messages against two staff members written on a fifth-floor bathroom wall in the West Building.

According to WMUR, extra police presence will be at the school today.

“We hope that they’re not connected, but I said in the letter I don’t want to rule out anything, so we’re working closely with the police department,” Connolly said.

In his note to parents, he urged them to discuss the incident with their children and asked anyone with information to report it.
