Car, truck collide on Manchester Street; one injured
A car crash on Manchester Street yesterday left one person with injuries the police said may be life threatening.
The collision happened about 11:30 a.m. just south of Airport Road, according to Concord police Lt. Timothy O’Malley, who said the crash involved a car and a box truck traveling in opposite directions. O’Malley said the driver of the car was taken to the hospital, and an update on his condition was not available yesterday.
The truck driver, also a male, wasn’t injured, and there were no passengers in either vehicle, O’Malley said.
O’Malley said it’s unclear what caused the crash but after an initial investigation the police believe the driver of the car may be at fault. He said the vehicles didn’t appear to have collided head-on, and the crash may have happened when one vehicle swept into the side of the other.
Manchester Street was closed off for about four hours, the police said.
