Police: Man applied for license with false identity

A man who the police say tried to obtain a driver’s license with a false identity was arrested at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Concord on Friday.

The man is charged with unsworn falsification and tampering with public records, according to a press release from the state police.

He identified himself as 26-year-old Oscar Rodriguez of Lawrence, Mass., while applying for a New Hampshire driver’s license, the police said. The state police were alerted that he was using another man’s identity, but were still trying to learn the man’s real identify as of Friday evening. The state police were assisted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The man is being held on $20,000 cash bail pending his arraignment in Concord’s district court on Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Richard Dupont of the state police at 223-8788.
