Fund set up for fire victim

The family of the 20-year-old Concord man killed in a fire Saturday has established a memorial fund to pay for the man’s funeral expenses.

Danny Hewey died this weekend from injuries sustained in Webster after he threw gasoline on a fire to rekindle it, according to a fire investigator.

The fire also injured the 17-year-old girlfriend of Hewey’s brother. She was released from a Boston hospital this week.

Linda and Timothy Hodgman of Warner, Hewey’s mother and stepfather, have set up a memorial fund at Merrimack County Savings Bank to cover Hewey’s funeral and burial expenses.

Hewey is the second child Linda Hodgman has lost in six years. In 2007, her daughter, Brenda Hewey Barnum, was fatally shot in Boscawen by an ex-boyfriend.

Contributions to Danny Hewey’s memorial fund can be made at any Merrimack County Savings Bank branch. The Hodgmans said they are still making funeral arrangements.
