A new music series was kicked off on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Concord’s City Auditorium. Merrimack Music’s inaugural event was a Songwriters’ Round in the Audi’s reception lobby, where four local musicians, Lucas Gallo, Tristan Omand, Matt Poirer and Dusty Gray, took turns performing their songs and talking to the audience about their influences. The Concord Community Concert Association along with local partners organized this by putting out a call for musicians’ proposals. Every Sunday afternoon in the month of March will have a free performance featuring local acts that range in style such as jazz, singer-songwriter and Celtic. “This is the best way to spend a Sunday,” said Tristan Omand, one of the singer-songwriters, as he was wrapping up his final song. “The laundry can wait till later.”
