We’ve had so much snowfall over the last month or so that we expect the very newspaper you are holding may have a light dusting. If the first thing you see this morning is a bleak and barren “winter wonderland,” do yourself and your fellow humans a favor and take it head on.
Burst outside with a full head of steam (and a handful of something steamy) and shovel yourself out. For an added challenge, try to finish before the plow guy even gets there! Lend a hand to your neighbors while you’re at it, and you’ll be awarded some serious XP.

Once that’s through with, put on your most patriotic winter hat and head down to NHTI to witness the raising of the new “Honor and Remember” flag that will soon be waving over campus. The flag honors those who have given their life serving in the U.S. military. There are about 200 veterans enrolled at NHTI, so if you see a student in uniform, give them a tip of the cap!
The flag raising takes place at 12:30 p.m. today behind Little Hall at NHTI, 31 College Drive. For more information, contact Alan Blake at 271-6484, ext. 4115.

Finally, some corrections from last week’s columns: Contrary to what we reported, Matt Bonner did not actually find a loophole in NCAA regulations that will allow him to play in this year’s March Madness tournament.
The new movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is not based, as we claimed, on the life of City Manager (and secret magician) Tom Aspell.
And, the Harlem Shake is an internet dance/viral video craze/song, not a delicious ice cream-based dessert.
We’ll try to do better next time.
