Woman, 22, dies in rollover crash in Meredith

A 22-year-old woman died early this morning in a rollover crash in Meredith, according to the police.

The woman, Meredith Bergeron, lives in Moultonborough, according to a family member.

The police said the incident happened at about 2:36 a.m. on Route 25 when Bergeron, traveling eastbound, lost control of her 2005 PT Cruiser and hit an unoccupied car parked in a driveway.

Officer Robert Nedeau said that second vehicle was pushed into a wooded area while Bergeron’s car rolled over and back into the roadway, coming to a rest in the westbound lane.

Bergeron, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the police.

Nedeau said the crash remains under investigation, and officers are still unsure what caused it. But he said speed may have been a factor.
