Adam Jones hit his first two home runs of the spring, J.J. Hardy homered and drove in four and Wilson Betemit also had RBIs before leaving with a knee injury as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox, 12-9.

The Sox were led by Jonny Gomes, who hit his second home run of the spring, and Christian Vazquez, who drilled his first. Will Middlebrooks had a three-hit game, while Jackie Bradley Jr. kept his hot spring going with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate.

Graham Godfrey got the start and didn’t last long, allowing six earned runs and nine hits in three innings.

Jones, who missed more than two weeks of spring training while playing in the World Baseball Classic, was 1-for-19 before his first home run. He also singled.

Hardy was batting .114 before the game, and he had two doubles and the home run.

Betemit had a three-run home run and sacrifice fly before spraining a ligament in his right knee in the fifth.

Orioles Rule 5 draft pick T.J. McFarland allowed four runs and eight hits in 32∕3 innings.
