Pembroke School Board chooses Doherty for vacancy

The Pembroke School Board has filled a sudden vacancy left when a newly elected board member resigned last month before joining the board.

The board chose Dave Doherty to fill the vacant seat on the board until the next town election.

Doherty was one of two people to apply and interview for the spot Tuesday, said Pembroke School District
Superintendent Patty Sherman.

The seat was vacated when Jeanne Byrne told the board she would not be able to fill it, shortly after being elected in March.
