Strangers approach young boy near school in Salem

The police in Salem are increasing patrols at the town’s elementary schools after a 10-year-old student was followed home by two strangers.

The police said the boy was walking home from Fisk Elementary School on Wednesday. The police said a man in a blue vehicle followed him home.

The boy was then approached by an unknown man in a green minivan. The driver asked him if he knew the person in the blue car. After the boy said no, the minivan driver told him to go home and tell his parents. He said the blue vehicle has been seen in the area before with the driver talking to children.

Detectives are investigating.
