Bow senior hosting her own TED talk
Sunday Swett wants her senior project at Bow High School to leave classmates and others in the community inspired.
Like many seniors, she’s both excited and anxious about what lies ahead, and, as such, has been looking for any wisdom or guidance to help wade through all the uncertainty. Her go-to of late: TED talks, the global conferencing series that showcases stories and speeches from some of the world’s brightest minds.
So for her project, she decided to create her own version of the acclaimed series. The conference, which is being held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Bow High School auditorium, will feature a handful of live and digitally streamed talks, all focusing on the theme of “inspiration.”
“More than anything, I want to give (other students) something to work off of,” Swett said, “the idea that there are so many possibilities out there, and that you need to allow yourself to try new things and experience new adventures.”
The event is free and open to the public. A barbecue lunch will be hosted after the event by the Bow High School National Honor Society. Interested attendees can RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org.
