The police have identified the 69-year-old man who was killed after driving a vehicle into a vacant home in Loudon yesterday afternoon as John Cameron.

Cameron, a resident of Loudon, had been traveling north on Route 106 when the black sedan he was driving struck a guardrail just north of Staniels Road, veered left and careened 170 feet into the side of a gray, single-story home. No other passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and no other injuries resulted from it, Loudon Police Chief Robert Fiske said.

The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m., and the Loudon police, assisted by the Loudon Fire Department and Merrimack County Sheriff’s Department, responded shortly thereafter.

Fiske said an initial investigation yesterday suggested that a medical condition may have been a factor in the accident. A definitive cause was still under investigation, he said.
