White Park bridge to close for repairs
The Franklin Pierce Bridge in White Park will close for repairs tomorrow, and the pond’s water level will be lowered to complete the work.
The water level will be lowered 2 feet to fit a boat under the bridge for repairs, according to City Manager Tom Aspell’s weekly newsletter.
Repairs to the bridge will include restoring its deteriorating underside, reappointing the mortar, resetting the stone caps and replacing the blacktop walkway with concrete.
The work is expected to continue for up to three weeks, Aspell wrote.
