7 accused of selling drugs in Claremont
Seven people have been arrested in Claremont on drug charges after a monthslong investigation.
Authorities said most of the suspects sold a variety of narcotic prescription pills to confidential informants throughout the city. The Attorney General’s Drug Task Force said two people are accused of selling cocaine to informants. One informant said he saw one suspect keep cocaine, marijuana and cash in a safe.
The Eagle-Times reported that task force detectives, along with the Claremont and Newport police, and officers with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department went out Thursday morning to start making arrests.
Six of those arrested are from Claremont. One is from Newport.
