The Insiders: Can vegetarians eat animal crackers?
We may be sending you mixed messages today, folks – at least for those intrepid readers who remember our Sunday column. We urged readers to go to the Pork Fest, and we hope you did! Today, though, we’re pushing an event at City Hall entitled Reintroducing the Vegetarian Diet. Fitness guru and nutrition expert Erin Girzone will be on hand from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to relieve your doubts about going vegetarian. Learn some tips and techniques to make a satisfying and healthy vegetarian menu. This Concord Food Co-op-sponsored class is free, but reservations are required. RSVP at concordfoodcoop.coop/classes.php.

Now let’s move from vegetarianism to living high on the Hogg. Iowa state senator and author of America’s Climate Century Rob Hogg (no, he’s not a livestock rustler, so quit askin’!) will speak at the New Hampshire Audubon’s McLane Center tonight at 7. The event is free. For more information, call 224-9909.
Elsewhere, the Spectras perform at Presidential Oaks at 6:30 p.m. and Joe Gattusa plays at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m.

Finally, some corrections to mistakes we made in last week’s columns. First of all, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed a gay conversion therapy ban, not a grey conversion GMC van, as we reported last week. Second, Red Sox knuckleballer Steven Wright is not the same dude who once asked, “Can vegetarians eat animal crackers?” That was Steven Wright the comedian. Lastly, we reported that if what we said here was not what it was then, then now it wasn’t where it was when it wasn’t. Sorry for the confusion.
