N.H. ex-congressman Charlie Bass may run for U.S. Senate in 2014

Former New Hampshire congressman Charlie Bass says he’s giving “serious consideration” to a run for the U.S. Senate in 2014.

Bass, a Peterborough Republican, is a seven-term veteran of the U.S. House who lost his 2nd District seat last year to Democrat Annie Kuster.

He said yesterday he’s considering a run against incumbent Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, citing state Senate Majority Leader Jeb Bradley’s decision this week not to enter the race.

“I’ve been contacted, called, so forth, by a large number of people, both within New Hampshire and elsewhere, just asking me to give it some thought. . . . I’m willing to give it serious consideration,” Bass said.

Bass said he doesn’t know when he’ll make a decision.

“I’m going to need some time to give it the consideration it deserves,” he said.

Former state senator Jim Rubens and conservative activist Karen Testerman, both Republicans, have also said they’re exploring a run against Shaheen.

Expect the progressive wolves to come out gnashing their teeth and pushing a disinformation campaign of the politics of personal destruction to stop Bass at any cost. I am sure that the Monitor folks are strategizing as we speak on character assassination techniques. Low information voters are awaiting the propaganda spin from the Left.

Just what NH needs some old blood to help bring about change. Surely the GOP can do better, can't they??

People are not liking the change Obama and the democrats promised. Direction of Country: Right TRACK – 29.2 % - Wrong Track – 62.6%. Since the democrats took over congress after the 2006 election - they caused a massive recession they cant get us out of. In addition, they have increased debt from $10 TRILLION to $17 TRILLION in just the last 4 years. Bring us back to the days of the Responsible Republicans or America will cease to be as you knew it.

Bass was never brought up on ethics charges. There was nothing there. He purchased his stock after his term was up. He was promoting alternative energies while he was in office including solar, etc, not just wood pellets. Do you actually believe that if he was in fact corrupt the Dems would have dropped this? It was a witch hunt. Done to discredit him and it worked.

Go Charlie GO

Was Charlie Bass ever brought up on ethics charges for his dealings with the wood pellet company. How quick people forget when it comes to politicians, or I guess it is just accepted in today's society.
