Police seek information about fire at Concord Country Club

The Concord police are looking to the public for information about a fire at the Concord Country Club on Friday.

The fire was reported at 7:40 a.m. Friday, but the police believe it was started earlier and that someone entered the building on Country Club Road sometime between 5:30 p.m. the evening before and 7 that morning, Concord police Lt. Timothy O’Malley said.

The fire started in the bag room and caused what could amount to tens of thousands of dollars in damage to the building and several bags of golf clubs, O’Malley said.

Investigators believe someone may have entered the building through an unsecured window on the first floor, he said.

As for motive, “the possibilities are wide-ranging,” O’Malley said. “It’s still an open case; we’ve come to kind of a wall.”

The Concord Police Department is asking anyone who has information about who may have caused the fire to call them at 225-8600 or the Concord Regional Crimeline at 226-3100.
