Concord police chief wins service award
Concord police Chief John Duval will be honored tonight by the Friends Youth Mentoring Program for his work with area teens.
Duval is a volunteer youth mentor for the program and has been meeting regularly with a 17-year-old mentee for more than the past four years. He has also previously served on the program’s board of trustees for eight years, as a member, vice president and president.
“Duval’s character is exemplary,” program officials said in a statement. “He has a strong moral compass. He takes internal pride in helping others. He confidently, yet humbly provides extraordinary leadership.”
The ceremony begins at 6:45 at the Capitol Center for the Arts.
