Three in court following Northwood police search

Three people will be arraigned in Rockingham County Superior Court today on charges stemming from a Friday incident in which they fled the police from a Northwood home.

The subjects are Cory Deshong, 24, of Newmarket, Scott Tierney, 34, of Northwood and Elizabeth Tierney, 27, of Northwood. The incident began when the Newmarket Police Department put out a warrant for Deshong’s arrest based on an alleged domestic violence incident early Friday morning. At 12:30 p.m. Friday, a police officer saw Deshong’s car parked at 160 Blake Road in Northwood, the residence of the Tierneys.

When the police entered the home, Elizabeth Tierney blocked them while Scott Tierney and Deshong jumped out the window and ran into the woods, the police said. The police quickly caught Scott Tierney and took him and Elizabeth Tierney into custody. The police then began a large-scale search with police dogs and the state police’s helicopter. It took nearly three hours to find Deshong, who was arrested at 3:15 p.m., the police said. The Nottingham, Epsom and Deerfield police, along with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department, also assisted in the search.

Scott Tierney faces charges of resisting arrest, simple assault, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled drug. Elizabeth Tierney was also charged with simple assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest, as well as hindering apprehension. Deshong also faces charges in relation to the domestic violence incident earlier Friday.

All three are being held on cash bail at the Rockingham County jail, the police said.
