The Insiders: A full day of Christmas joy
If you love cookies or even want to generate some ideas of what to leave for Santa this year, we have the thing for you. The Immanuel Community Church is hosting a Christmas Cookie Walk today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free, so the only money you will need depends on how many cookies you want. And don’t forget to buy some extras to share, especially with us. We sure do like chocolate chip.
And in an effort to make up for all those cookies you are about to eat, or even to get a jump on that New Year’s resolution, why not head over to Rundlett Middle School for the annual Jingle Bell 5K Run and Walk for the Arthritis Foundation? The run begins at 10 a.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m. The cost is $35, $20 for children 9 and younger. It will be so cold you will have no choice but to run.
To end the afternoon, check out the one-day performance of the Turning Pointe Center of Dance’s rendition of the Nutcracker Ballet at the City Auditorium. Tickets are $15 and it begins at 2 p.m. It will surely give you a chance to gauge what it takes to become a professional ballet dancer.
