North Country Council has new director

A familiar face is returning to lead the planning agency for the North Country.

The board of directors of the North County Council has selected Christine Frost to head the agency, a regional planning commission and federally designated economic development district.

Frost previously worked for the council, hired in 2001 as a planner in charge of economic development and grant writing. She left in 2007 to become director of the Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission in Lebanon.

Frost, who grew up in St. Johnsbury, Vt., said she has a “great love” for the rural area of New Hampshire and Vermont.

She’s a board member of the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority, the National Association of Development Organizations and the Endowment for Health.

She starts March 3.
