Concord woman found dead of possible drug overdose
The Concord police are investigating the death of a 47-year-old woman that they said was possibly the result of a drug overdose. The woman was found unconscious inside a small blue boarding house at 32 N. Spring St. shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, Lt. Timothy O’Malley said in a statement. The woman, who lived in the building, was taken to Concord Hospital and later pronounced dead. Officials have yet to identify her.
O’Malley said detectives conducted a search of the house yesterday afternoon and interviewed several residents who were present when emergency officials first arrived. No arrests were made at that time, he said.
O’Malley said evidence indicates the woman had taken some form of narcotic, but he declined to say what was found at the scene or what drugs the woman is believed to have used. An official cause of death will be released pending toxicology results, he said.
