The police have identified the man who died in a house fire in Claremont.
Firefighters found 68-year-old Louis Russel on the floor of a house on Warren Street and took him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead Sunday.
Officials said Russel died of smoke inhalation and the manner of death is accidental. A preliminary investigation determined that the fire started in a first-floor bedroom and was caused by the careless use or disposal of smoking materials.
