Franklin man arrested for reckless operation of a motorcycle
A Franklin man was arrested last night for erratically driving a motorcycle along Route 140 in Tilton, Tilton Police Chief Robert Cormier said in a release.
Ketih McLeod, 32, will face charges of recklessly operating a vehicle and disobeying a police officer. Just before 10 p.m., police officers saw a motorcycle going the wrong way on the eastbound side of Route 140 near the Tilt’N Diner, the release said. McLeod was also weaving in and out of lanes and failed to stop at a traffic signal near the Circle-K Irving gas station.
When the police officers tried to stop the McLeod, he sped up and lost control of the motorcycle. After the motorcycle fell over, he attempted to run into the wooded area near the road, but the police apprehended him.
McLeod was taken in an ambulance to Concord Hospital for injuries from the accident. The police are looking into whether alcohol was involved, and the incident is still under investigation, Cormier said.
