BREAKING: Son, brother of two slain in Belmont arrested for driving with suspended license

The man taken into custody hours after his mother and brother were found dead in their Belmont home Friday was arraigned this morning on a charge of driving without a valid license.

Shawn Carter, 31, was driving on a suspended license when the police detained him at about 2:15 p.m. Friday, according to charges filed in Laconia’s district court. This morning, a judge ordered him to be held on a $200 cash and a $2,000 personal recognizance bail.

Shawn Carter was taken into custody by what witnesses have described as a swarm of officers with guns drawn, less than a mile from the 20 Sunset Drive rental property where his mother Priscilla Carter and brother Tim Carter were found dead. Officials say they died of multiple “chop” wounds.

The state attorney general’s office has declined to comment on Shawn Carter and have said that while no one has been arrested in relation to the homicides, the public is not in danger.

Carter has also been charged with default or breach of bail conditions.

Weird story. I'm starting to wonder if its possible for a person to hack himself to death.
