Breaking: Second drowning reported in Merrimack River
A man in his 20s went missing the Merrimack River yesterday afternoon and has likely drowned, officials said. New Hampshire Fish & Game officials will begin their search again tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.
The man was playing in the water just off the Hannah Duston Trestle Bridge in Boscawen when he went under the water around 4:30 p.m., Boscawen Police Chief Kevin Wyman said. Family and friends at the scene declined to comment.
This is the second drowning in two days in river. Gary LaCroix, 59, drowned yesterday.
