Police: Man leaves store wearing new shoes, old ones left

The Concord police are looking for a man who’s wearing a new pair of white shoes, size 10½. They have his old ones, which he left behind in the store’s shoe box.

The police said the man has visited Burlington Coat Factory on Storrs Street twice to replace the shoes he was wearing with new ones. Both times, he placed his own shoes in the shoe box and left wearing the new shoes without paying for them.

The police said during both thefts, on Aug. 30 and Oct. 2, the man took the same style and color shoes: FILA Fulcrum 3, white, valued at $29.99.

The police have recovered video surveillance from store security and are asking the public to assist in identifying the man.

“The subject is described as being a thin white male, possibly in late 20s, early 30s, with brown hair and a receding hairline,” the police said in a statement. “The subject appears to have tattoos on his forearms. The subject may live within close proximity to the store as he has been seen there on several occasions.”
