Can you believe it’s already time to hit the slopes?

Well, its not the case for all the resorts, but several nearby ski areas have opened fully or partially for the season.

The first N.H. resort to open for business was Bretton Woods, which offered free skiing the day before Halloween.

Loon Mountain is following closely behind, though. It’s opening this Friday, the earliest opening date in the area’s history. Gunstock is preparing to open in 30 days.

Part of the reason for the early openings is the advancement in technology that the ski resorts utilize.

The other N.H. ski areas expected to open this month are Cannon Mountain, Cranmore Mountain Resort, Granite Gorge, Mount Sunapee and Waterville Valley.

Most others will follow suit in December.
