Concord Police Chief John Duval to retire at year's end, take job at Concord Hospital

Concord Police Chief John Duval will retire from city service at the end of the year, then take a job at Concord Hospital, according to an email sent by City Manager Tom Aspell to members of the city council this afternoon.

"John has been an employee with the City of Concord since June 8, 1986," Aspell wrote.

Duval's last day on the job will be Dec. 23.

"I will provide you with additional information as to the future management of the Police Department as it becomes available," Aspell wrote. "Try to have great weekend."

I wonder if Concord Hospital has ordered their Bearcat. I understand that many Free Staters will seeking care there and presenting daily challenges at the hospital. Duval will be loaded for bear at the first sign of any Free Stater entering hospital property. I wonder if he will bring along his tin horn?

Those non existent daily challenges from the FSP apparently got the better of him...
