Franklin woman allegedly strikes neighbor with car, flees
A Franklin woman was charged with two felonies yesterday, a day after she allegedly hit a pedestrian with her vehicle and fled the scene.
The Franklin police arrested Rose Wiechels, 53, and charged her with reckless conduct and conduct after an accident, according to a press release.
At 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, the police responded to Evergreen Avenue, where the victim told the police she was returning home from a walk with her dogs when Wiechels drove into the driveway and hit her. Wiechels, who also lives on Evergreen Avenue, then fled the scene, according to the press release. The victim suffered a leg injury and was transported to Franklin Regional Hospital.
Wiechels was arrested yesterday at 12:38 a.m. and held at the Merrimack County Department of Corrections pending her arraignment. She was released on $10,000 personal recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court July 21.
